Home overview

The Overview on Home shows four figures for your whole store: Added revenue, Average order value, Orders with bundles and Revenue per visitor. Pick 24 hours, 7 days (the default), 30 days or All time. Each figure shows its change against the period before, except All time, which has nothing to compare with. 24 hours covers the last 24 hours hour by hour and leaves out Revenue per visitor; 7 days and 30 days are whole UTC days ending yesterday. Select a figure to open the Analytics page.

The Analytics page

The bar at the top of the page sets what every section shows:

  • Deal filter: "All bundle deals", or one deal. The list has a Status filter (All, Active, Inactive, Scheduled) and a search by name.
  • Date range: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days (the default), Last 90 days, Last 365 days, Last month, Last 12 months, Last year, or Custom, up to 3 years. The "Last ... days" ranges end yesterday.
  • Compare to: No comparison, Previous period (the default), Yesterday, Previous year, Previous year (match day of week), or Custom.
  • Export as CSV: one row per day per deal, with date, deal id and name, visitors, add to carts, add-to-cart rate, orders, bundle orders, conversion rate, revenue, added revenue, average order value, revenue per visitor, units, subscribed orders, profit and currency. Up to 10 exports an hour. An empty range says "No data to export for the selected period".

Below it:

  • Metric tiles. 15 metrics, each with its change against the comparison. Nine show at first: Revenue, Added revenue, Bundle orders, Visitors, CR, AOV, Revenue / visitor, ATC and ATC rate. The Metrics button adds the other six (Profit / visitor, Profitability, Checkout rate, Subscribed orders, Subscription rate, UPT (Units per Order)), and the x on a tile hides it. Hover a tile for its definition.
  • Metrics over time. Select a tile to chart it. The chart groups by hour (ranges of up to 2 days within the last 7 days), by day (up to 92 days), by week (up to 366 days) or by month. Vertical markers show when a deal was published, for the 20 most recent.
  • Bundles. One row per deal, sortable, with a preview of the deal. It starts with Revenue, Visitors, Revenue / visitor, AOV and Bundle orders; you choose the columns. With one deal picked in the filter, this becomes Bars, one row per bar.
  • Features. One row per feature: Quantity breaks, BXGY, Bundle, Mix & match, SKU (Alternative product), Upsells, Checkbox upsells, Gifts, Subscriptions and Personalisation, with Bundle orders, % of orders, Attributed revenue, AOV (with feature) and Profit (with feature). A feature with orders opens to its products.
  • Products. One row per product in those orders, with Orders, Revenue, Bundle orders, AOV and Profit to start. Hidden when there is no product to show.
  • Funnel. Visits, ATC and Purchase, where Purchase is Bundle orders.
  • Quantity by Order Share. Orders with 1 item, 2 items and 3+ items of the deal's main product.
  • Subscriptions. Only for a range with subscribed orders: Subscription revenue over time and Subscription by Order Share.

The deal list shows a few of the same figures per deal. Its columns are your choice: Visitors, CR, AOV, Added revenue and Total revenue to start, and also Add to cart, Add to cart %, Revenue per visitor, Profit per visitor, Bundles, Subscribed and Upsell %. They always cover the last 365 days, whatever you pick on the Analytics page. Expand a deal for a row per bar; bars show "-" for visitors, because views are counted per deal. Analytics in a deal's menu opens the Analytics page on that deal.

Where the numbers come from

Views and add to carts come from the app's web pixel, "Bundle deal analytics", and only for shoppers who allow analytics in your store's cookie consent. A view counts once per deal per page load, when at least 10 percent of the widget is on screen. An add to cart is a click on the widget's own button. Nothing is counted in the theme editor.

Orders come from Shopify, which sends the app each new order, whether or not the shopper allowed analytics. The app keeps only the lines of a deal and the lines of products a live deal targets. Items added through the widget carry a hidden tag that ties them to their deal and bar; items added with your theme's own Add to cart button are plain lines of the deal's product.

What is left out or kept:

  • Test orders are left out, so a development store shows visitors but no orders.
  • Refunds and cancellations are not subtracted.
  • Tax and shipping are not included.
  • Amounts are in your store currency.
  • On a reinstall, the last 60 days of orders are read back. A first install starts from zero.

Timing. Figures are recomputed every 15 minutes, and yesterday is recomputed again at 00:20 and 06:00 UTC. Days run from midnight to midnight UTC, not in your store's timezone.

These are estimates for judging deals, not accounting records. Use your Shopify reports for the books.

What each figure means

  • Visitors: browsers that saw the deal on a UTC day, counted once per day and added up over the range. A shopper who comes back on three days counts three times.
  • ATC and ATC rate: clicks on the widget's add to cart button, and the share of visitors who clicked it at least once that day.
  • Checkout rate: the share of visitors who started a checkout the same day with an item of the deal or its product.
  • Bundle orders: orders where a deal sold more than one item: 2 or more of the main product, or a bundle, mix and match, upsell, gift or cross-product item. A single item is not a bundle order.
  • CR (conversion rate): orders with an item added through the deal, divided by visitors. Orders count for every shopper and visitors only for those who allowed analytics, so CR reads higher than the true rate when many shoppers decline.
  • Revenue (Total revenue in the deal list): after discounts, the deal's own items plus any other lines of the deal's products in the same orders, such as a unit added with the theme's Add to cart button.
  • AOV: that revenue divided by the orders that contain the deal's products. It is not the value of the whole order.
  • Revenue / visitor: revenue divided by visitors.
  • Profit / visitor and Profitability: profit uses the Cost per item set on your products in Shopify. Lines without a cost add nothing to profit, and Profitability is profit divided by the revenue of items that have a cost.
  • Added revenue: what a deal earned beyond one item at its price before discounts. See Added revenue for the rules and examples.
  • Orders with bundles (Home) and Bundles (deal list): bundle orders as a share of the orders with an item added through a deal.
  • Subscribed orders and Subscription rate: orders with a subscription bought through the deal, and their share of the orders with the deal.
  • UPT (Units per Order): units added through the deal, divided by the orders with the deal.
  • Upsell %: the share of orders with the deal that included an upsell.

Reading a deal, in four steps.

Open the deal's numbers

In the deal list, open a deal's menu and choose Analytics, or pick the deal in the filter on the Analytics page.

Set the period and the comparison

Pick a date range and what to compare it with. Each tile shows the change against that period.

Read rates next to their counts

A rate over a handful of visitors moves a lot from one order to the next. Check Visitors and Bundle orders beside CR before you change a deal.

Look at bars and features

The Bars table shows which offer sells, and Features shows what gifts, upsells or subscriptions add. Export as CSV if you want the daily numbers in a spreadsheet.
